Additional SP killed in IED blast triggered by Maoists in Chhattisgarh
Maoists triggered an IED blast in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, killing Additional SP Akash Rao Giripunje and injuring two other police personnel. The explosion occurred near a newly set up police base camp on the Konta-Gollapalli road during a routine patrol.

Kothagudem: After being silent for a while Maoists have struck back at security forces in Chhattisgarh. An additional SP died and two others cops were injured seriously in an IED blast at Konta of Sukma district in Chhattisgarh on Monday.
The deceased officer Akash Rao Giripunje came under the IED blast on Konta-Gollapalli road when he was on patrolling duty along with his staff. He was rushed to Konta health centre with serious injuries and died while undergoing treatment.
A CI and another policeman were also injured in the incident. The vehicle in which the policemen were travelling was badly damaged in the blast, which occurred close to a newly set up police base camp.
