Adilabad: Adilabad in-charge Superintendent of Police M Rajesh Chandra was transferred and was replaced by Mancherial Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) D Uday Kumar Reddy on Saturday night.

A native of Khammam district, Uday Kumar was posted as DCP of Mancherial on October 25 in 2019. He efficiently discharged duties and controlled crime rate of the district. He was appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for overseeing anti-Maoist operations in both Mancherial and Kumram Bheem Asifabad districts.

Recently, he was conferred with Indian Police Officer cadre rank and was allocated to Telangana. He had worked in various parts of erstwhile Adilabad and Godavarikhani DSP and Banjara Hills ACP before being transferred to Kothagudam. He had begun his career with police department as sub-inspector in 1991.

Meanwhile, IPS officer K Suresh Kumar was posted as Superintendent of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. The post is lying vacant since January 31 of 2020, following the retirement of the then SP Malla Reddy. Ramagundam Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana was the in-charge SP of the district.
