Adilabad Collector’s call to action a big hit

Adilabad: Adilabad District Collector Sikta Patnaik’s call to action to present stationery items in place of flower bouquets on New Year evoked good response with many officials, employees’ organisations, lawyers, politicians and NGOs presenting her pens and note books.
Officials of various government departments, members of employees’ organisations, lawyers, voluntary organisations, doctors, conveyed wishes for the New Year to Sikta and presented stationery items. They made a beeline to the camp office of the Collector from early morning till evening. They thanked her for making them a part of the cause.
Sikta said the pens, notebooks, pencils, exam pads would be given to financially poor students studying in government schools in the district. She thanked those who responded to her call and for generously donating the stationery items. She added that simple gestures would make a difference and bring huge aid to the needy.
Meanwhile, teachers raised funds Rs 21,000 and handed over it to the Collector to develop a primary school at Nipani village in Bheempur mandal.
