Adilabad cops celebrate women’s day, conduct medical camp

Adilabad: Adilabad police celebrated International Women’s Day by organizing a mega health camp for 500 tribals at remote Kothapalli, a hamlet under Nakkalapalli village in Boath mandal on Tuesday. Superintendent of Police D Uday Kumar Reddy was the chief guest of the event.
Uday Kumar along with Boath ZPTC member Sandhya Rani, Adivasi women, and women paramedics cut a cake to mark the Women’s Day in the interior hamlet. Incidentally, the police conducted the celebrations for the first time in a tribal habitation. Tribal women were surprised and were visibly excited to witness the celebrations. They were given special attention during the medical camp.
Speaking on the occasion, Uday Kumar said the camp was aimed at bringing medical services at the doorsteps of the tribals who could not afford to go to hospitals located in Adilabad. He stated that seasonal diseases could be prevented with the help of the event. He advised tribal students to excel in academics and to set higher goals.
Coaching to tribal youngsters soon
The superintendent announced that the department would provide free coaching to tribal youngsters helping them in cracking constable jobs in Utnoor soon. He stated that the habitation, once a bastion of banned Maoists, was deprived of basic amenities. He urged the dwellers not to entertain the ultras and to take part in the process of development. Additional SP B Vinod Kumar, Adilabad DSP N Venkateshwar Rao, Boath M Nylu, Sub-Inspectors Divya Bharathi, Ajay, Muzahid, doctors Ravindr Prasad, and Naveen, Sarpanch Kodapa Vijay and many others were present.
