Adilabad: Farmers sought the return of former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s rule again in Telangana for transforming the agriculture sector and addressing challenges faced by it. They performed an ‘Abhishekam’ to a life-size flex poster of Rao using wheat produce at Mukhra (K), a model village in Echoda mandal on Friday, hailing him for extending innovative schemes for the welfare of farmers.

The farmers opined that Chandrashekhar Rao’s leadership is the need of the hour to improve farmers’s lives, who were irked by delay in releasing Rythu Bharosa benefit and reeling under crisis due to crop failure and unsupportive prices to their products.

“We still remember Rao’s governance. He used to extend the benefit to the farmers on time. We want his rule in Telangana again,” they remarked.

The farmers regretted that the Congress government provided the benefit thrice as against 11 times disbursed under the former BRS government. They demanded the State government to take steps to immediately grant the crop investment support and to support them. They maintained that Rao was the benefactor of the farmers and changed the face of the agriculture sector by introducing landmark schemes.

Former Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi, former MPTC member G Subhash, farmers Thirupathi, Datta, Prahlad, Govind, Santosh and others were present.
