Adilabad: Farmers regretted that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy was duping them by delaying the release of Rythu Bharosa benefit. Carrying land titles, they recorded selfie videos and sent them to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the Telangana Governor through social media platforms at Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal on Sunday.
The disappointed farmers said Revanth Reddy promised that the benefit would be sanctioned after the Sankranthi festival and later announced that the aid would be released following the completion of municipal elections. However, the crop investment support was not granted so far even as Vanakalam ended and the Yasangi season commenced.
The farmers stated that they were forced to borrow money from local money lenders and pesticide traders at exorbitant rates of interest. They urged both Rahul Gandhi and Governor Jishnu Dev Varma to respond to their videos and advise Revanth Reddy to immediately release the benefit. Former Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi, former MPTC member G Subhash, farmers Vittal, Prahlad, Dattu, Nagnath, Thirupathi, Thulasi Ram and women were present.
