Adilabad: A bridegroom and bride used their wedding venue to express their anger against the State government for delaying implementation of providing 1 tola gold to eligible brides by displaying placards at model village Mukhra (K) in Echoda mandal on Thursday.

The couple Kamble Amol and Geethanjali staged an innovative protest by carrying placards asking Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and AICC leader Rahul Gandhi when the gold would be given to the brides. They raised the questions to Revanth Reddy and Rahul Gandhi in Telugu, Hindi and English. They were joined by their relatives and family members.

The just wedded pair said that forget the gold, Revanth Reddy was duping the poor family by not extending the financial aid of Rs 1,00,116 under Kalyana Laxmi scheme on time. They demanded the government to extend the gold and aid to the eligible bridges at the earliest. They recalled former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao supporting poor families by offering economic support to brides.

Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi, MPTC member Subhash and parents of the bride and groom were present.
