Government junior college lecturer booked for promoting multi-level marketing scheme through WhatsApp. Police say he duped 27 people with false promises of high returns, collected commissions from a firm named Treasure Fun

Adilabad: A government junior college lecturer was booked for promoting a multi-level marketing (MLM) scheme in Adilabad on Thursday. A mobile phone was seized from him.

Police said Hingolu Satyanarayana, who works at a junior college in Echoda mandal centre, was apprehended for endorsing and promoting an MLM scheme by a firm named Treasure Fun.

He admitted to creating a WhatsApp group and duping 27 people by promising high returns. He also revealed that he collected commissions for enrolling individuals in the company’s marketing network.
