Adilabad: The loss that Telangana Beverages Corporation Limited suffered in a fire at its depot at Utnoor on Wednesday has been revised to Rs 12 crore to Rs 15 crore against the Rs 100 crore that was claimed by the depot manager.
The depot manager Thodasam Prabhu Das said that two deputy commissioners of prohibition and excise department inspected the depot and inquired into the mishap, and placed the losses at between RS 12 crore and Rs 15 crore. The liquor stock which was not damaged in the fire was shifted to another place.
Das had said that 97,600 cases of various brands of liquor went up in flames when the depot caught fire due to suspected electrical short-circuit. No casualties, however, were reported in the mishap.
