Adilabad: A court in Adilabad on Friday sentenced a man to five years of imprisonment for murdering his father when he refused to give money to buy liquor, four years ago.

District court principal judge K Prabhakar Rao awarded the term against Mudigampalli Suresh from KRK Colony after finding him guilty for killing his father Bondiyalu, when he refused to give money to buy liquor for him on July 25 in 2021. The prosecution questioned eleven eyewitnesses and examined pieces of evidence before the verdict was delivered.

Based on a complaint received from Laxmi, wife of Bondiyalu, the then probationary Sub-Inspector D Radhika registered a case and investigations were taken up. The then Inspector K Purshottam filed a charge-sheet before the court and established the offence of Suresh. Meanwhile, SP commende the police officials and court-duty officer Ch Santosh for getting the case convicted.
