Adilabad man held for disturbing communal harmony through Instagram posts

Police arrested a man in Adilabad district for allegedly posting derogatory messages on Instagram that triggered communal tension in Cheprala village of Bela mandal. Authorities warned of strict action against those promoting communal enmity through social media

Adilabad: A man was apprehended on Tuesday for allegedly disturbing communal harmony by posting derogatory messages on Instagram at Cheprala village in Bela mandal.

Police said Botla Vamshi Yadav of the village was arrested for posting derogatory comments on the popular photo and video sharing social networking platform, which had triggered communal tension in the village recently. A case was registered against Vamshi based on a complaint lodged by Huzur Khan of Bela, and investigation was taken up.


Police warned of stringent action against those promoting communal enmity and attempting to spark communal clashes.
