Adilabad: TGB CSP held for siphoning Rs 1.25 crore

Adilabad: A customer service provider (CSP) of Telangana Grameena Bank (TGB) was arrested for allegedly siphoning Rs 1.25 crore using Kisan credit cards of farmers. He was produced before pressmen here on Monday.
Authorities recovered Rs 20,000 in cash, two cameras worth Rs 4 lakh and golden ornaments worth Rs 80,000 were recovered from him. Bank officials have already recovered Rs 45.92 lakh in the past.
Giving details of the arrest, Superintendent of Police D Uday Kumar Reddy said the accused person was Jetala Ramesh, a CSP of Chinnasalpalaguda village in Adilabad Rural mandal. Ramesh confessed to committing the crime to lead a lavish lifestyle.
He admitted that he had illegally withdrawn funds Rs 1,25,18,300 using three Kisan credit cards from September of 2021 to February. He revealed that he transferred the money to accounts of his relatives. He revealed that he used the funds Rs 1.80 lakh to repay a loan taken from one Rakesh.
Ramesh’s act was exposed when the authorities of the main branch of TGB in Hyderabad carried out an auditing on February 18. Accordingly, the bank’s Adilabad manager Mahi Vivek lodged a complaint with police.
A case was registered and investigations were taken up. Adilabad DSP NSV Venkateshwar Rao, Rural Inspector Raghupathi, Sub-Inspector Haribabu were present.
