Adilabad: Residents thanked former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for transforming their lives by introducing Dalit Bandhu and Dalit Basti schemes, by performing Ksheerabhisekam to his flex poster at Mukhra (K) village in Echoda mandal on Thursday.
The residents recalled that the credit of converting daily-wage laborers into farmers would go to Chandrashekhar Rao for extending three acres of cultivable land to each Dalit family of the village under Dalit Bandhu scheme. Every Dalit household was covered by fruits of welfare schemes during his regime, they recounted.
They regretted that Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy duped the Dalits by not fulfilling his poll promises. They said that the Congress failed to keep its promises even after completing 1,000 days at office. They wanted the return of Chandrashekhar Rao to the power to uplift the lives of the weaker sections.
Former Sarpanch Gadge Meenakshi, former MPTCmember Subhash, residents Thirupathi, Vittal, Maruti, Datta, Prahlad and beneficiaries of Dalit Basti took part in the event.
