Adilabad woman, aide held for poisoning husband with liquor

Adilabad: A woman and her associate were arrested for allegedly attempting to murder her husband by offering him liquor laced with poison at Mavala mandal centre on Sunday night.
Police said the woman and Gouru Pavan were apprehended for their role in trying to kill Srinivas, a driver from Mavala, by forcing him to consume poisoned alcohol on August 24. Srinivas was rushed to RIMS-Adilabad, where his condition remains critical.
According to police, the woman and Pavan confessed to plotting Srinivas’s murder after she developed a friendship with Pavan three months ago.
Srinivas disclosed the conspiracy to his parents, who lodged a complaint. Based on their report, police registered a case against the woman and Pavan, a pharmacist in the town. Investigation is underway.
