Adilabad: Two women thrashed a former village revenue officer with slippers alleging that he had intentionally reduced the extent of their lands in revenue records at Kapparla village in Thamsi mandal on Tuesday. They, however, were pacified by Thamsi MRO who assured that the error would be rectified after a survey of the lands.
Sources said that Jangam Gangavva, a resident of Vaddadi village and Thokala Vinoda belonging to Ponnari village, resorted to beating former Kapparla VRO Rohith holding him responsible for deletion of records pertaining to their land measuring 2.37 acre and 3.25 acre, respectively. They realized it when they sold their cotton produce at Adilabad market agriculture yard on Tuesday.
Thamsi MRO Sandhya Rani told reporters that a portion of the land was allocated to siblings of husbands of Gangavva and Vaddadi as part of partitioning their assets. She stated that a survey would be carried out to ascertain the claims of the women. She said that steps would be taken to correct any error.
