Adilabad: Attending the wedding of a friend’s relatives proved tragic and altered the fate for Shartha Sai Teja, an 18-year old promising Kabaddi player from Shantinagar in Adilabad. He is struggling to pay for the treatment as he suffered fractures on his leg and had a brain hemorrhage in a recent ghastly road. He urged philanthropists to donate funds for his treatment.

On the fateful day, Sai Teja and his cousin brother Vikram and friend Sai Krishna were on their way to Adilabad after attending the marriage ceremony in Nirmal. He received grievous injuries, while Vikram (21), a private employee was killed on the spot and Sai Krishna sustained minor injuries when the two-wheeler on which they were travelling rammed into a divider on Hyderabad-Nagpur highway, on the outskirts of Echoda.
The Kabaddi player was admitted to a government hospital of Adilabad and then he was rushed to a private hospital in Hyderabad for better medicare.

Sai Teja had lost his father to cardiac arrest in his childhood, while his mother is a daily wage earner. To his credit, he took part in five state-level tournaments and led the Adilabad Kabaddi team. His cousin Sai Kiran Nilagiri told ‘Telangana Today’ that Sai Teja was admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital and treatment was very expensive. His hapless mother Radha requested philanthropists to come to their rescue by donating money. Donations could be sent on Googlepay or Phonepe on 63024 43010 (Sai Kiran Nilagiri). Else, money could be transferred to the account of Sharta Radha, a/c number 6218736008, IFSC code: IDIB000A139, Indian Bank, Adilabad.
