Adivasi girl molestation case transferred to Chintoor police station in AP

Paloncha police registered a zero FIR after a minor adivasi girl was found unconscious near Peddammagudi. The case was booked under BNS and POCSO sections before being transferred to Chintoor police in AP

Kothagudem: Paloncha rural police in the district registered a zero FIR in connection with the alleged molestation of a minor adivasi girl, who was found unconscious near Peddammagudi at Paloncha on Sunday.

Paloncha DSP R Sathish Kumar told the media on Monday that police received a complaint from the district Child Welfare Committee (CWC) about the incident. A case under Sections 126(2), 127(2) and 74 of the BNS, along with Section 12 of the POCSO Act, was registered at Paloncha rural police station.


The girl was sent for medical examination and her statement was recorded. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Chintoor police station in Andhra Pradesh, and the case was transferred there, he added.
