Warangal: Stating that significant changes occurred in the medical education under the guidance of the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao ever since the formation of the State, Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), Vice-Chancellor, Dr B Karunakar Reddy said that the government had sanctioned additional eight medical colleges this year and admissions to those colleges would begin next year. He has unfurled the national flag on the occasion of the 73 rd Republic Day at the university administrative building here on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that for the first time since the construction of the new building, the Republic Day celebrations had been conducted here.

“With the help of the government, the new building for the university has been fully staffed and got all the basic amenities,” he said and added that the number of seats in all courses like UG, PG, Super Specialty, etc., had been increased. He said steps were being taken to introduce new medical related (allied) courses.


“The transactions are being carried out transparently and all necessary steps are being taken to improve medical education in the State,” Dr Karunakar Reddy added.

University Rector Dr. T. Venkateshwar Rao, Registrar Dr D Praveen Kumar, Controller of Examinations, Dr Y Malleeshwar, Joint Registrar Dr D Ramesh Kumar, Deputy Registrar Dr Ramanujam, others including Dr Sudhakar Rao, Dr Hemant, S Nagarjuna, varsity employees, and others were present at the Republic Day celebrations.
