Advik Reddy wins bronze at National Under-13 Chess Championship

Hyderabad: M. Advik Reddy of Narayanpur village in Sircilla, Telangana, won a bronze medal at the National Under-13 Chess Championship in Puducherry.
The 12-year-old Advik, a product of Velocity Chess Academy, scored nine points from 11 rounds. A student of Insignis Transnational School, Chandanagar, Advik has an Elo rating of 2141, was a runner-up in the Telangana Under-13 Championship and finished third at the Nationals.
One of the highlights of Advik’s young career has been his impressive performance at the Chennai Grand Masters tournament, where he gained 94 FIDE rating points.
Rajender, Advik’s father, appealed to the corporate sector to provide financial support to his son, saying that, according to his mentors at Velocity Chess Academy, he has the potential to make it big.
Another Telangana player, Divith Reddy Adulla, a FIDE-rated player, finished fourth with 8.5 points from 11 rounds.
