Afridi says Dhoni doesn’t deserve such treatment

The form of CSK skipper came under scanner and turned ugly when Dhoni’s five-year-old daughter was dragged into the matter.

Hyderabad: Chennai Super Kings, the three-time champions, are struggling in the ongoing Indian Premier League and their captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is facing under tremendous heat from fans. Having lost five of their seven matches, they are languishing at the seventh place.

The form of CSK skipper came under scanner and turned ugly when Dhoni’s five-year-old daughter was dragged into the matter. She was given rape and physical violence threat on Instragram account of Dhoni’s wife Sakshi. Several people condemned the threats. Reacting to the incident, Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi commented supporting Dhoni.

“I don’t know what sort of threats were directed at MS Dhoni & his family but it’s not right & shouldn’t happen. Dhoni’s the person who has taken Indian cricket to new heights. He’s taken junior & senior players along this journey & doesn’t deserve such treatment,” he said. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan also hit out at people criticizing Dhoni.
