After a long spell of rains, Hyderabad basks in sunshine; Wet weather to return next week
Hyderabad witnessed clear skies and sunshine on Thursday after days of heavy rains. IMD forecasts dry weather until this weekend, but from August 26, heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds are expected across Telangana, prompting a two-day weather alert.

Hyderabad: After a long spell of heavy rains, overcast skies and chilly winds, people in Hyderabad have finally got an opportunity to bask in much-needed sunshine on Thursday.
While the sun is shining brightly on the cloudless Hyderabadi skies, the maximum temperatures, however, will be comfortable, at below 30 degree Celsius and night time temperatures at 22 degree Celsius.
The present dry conditions, according to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, are expected to last till this weekend. From Monday, August 26, onwards, the weather department has issued a two-day heavy rainfall warning for all parts of the State.
There could be sporadic spells of very light to moderate showers in between, but the impact level is very low. “Partly coudly skies. Light rain or thundershowers accompanied with gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) are very likely to occur,” the IMD-Hyderabad forecast indicated.
For the entire State, the IMD-Hyderabad in its forecast has indicated “Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds of 30-40 kmph. Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at a few places over Telangana”.
