Hyderabad: After Agriculture Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, now Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has said that farmers were benefiting from the Rs.500 bonus than the assistance extended through Rythu Bandhu.

To promote fine rice paddy cultivation, the State government was offering Rs.500 bonus per quintal to the farmers, he said, claiming that a woman farmer, who took land on lease, informed him that land owners were benefiting through Rythu Bandhu while tenant farmers were incurring debts.

Speaking at Arogya Utsavalu here on Monday, the Chief Minister claimed that the woman farmer also said she had harvested 30 quintals per acre this time and for every acre, she earned a bonus of Rs.15,000 bonus.

Irrespective of the hurdles created or attempts made to mislead, cultivate fine rice varieties extensively, he promised the farmers that the Rs.500 bonus per quintal would be given to them. Revanth Reddy also assured them that Rythu Bharosa would be extended to farmers after Sankranti. Asking whether miracles would happen in 10 months or whether there was anything that he had left out in 10 months, he said it was the responsibility of the people to counter the opposition.
