Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao’s vision and passion towards agriculture sector, besides efficient service of the employees, had increased the popularity of Agriculture department manifold among people, said Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy on Thursday.
Seven years ago, the Agriculture department was neglected but after TRS came to power, the department gained significance, he said, adding: “As a farmer, I have a special liking for the department.”
The Minister was speaking after releasing the Telangana Agriculture Officers Association calendar at Reddy Hostel here. The department is directly linked with the people and was rendering services to majority of the population in the State, he said.
He said Agriculture Extension Officers and Agriculture Officers were working efficiently at the field level. “All the issues of the employees will be addressed and there will be promotions soon. The Chief Minister has responded positively to sanction of additional posts,” said Niranjan Reddy.
All the employees’ unions should come onto a single platform and the issues should be discussed at length and addressed accordingly, he said.
“Let us take decisions impartially and ensure they benefit all the employees without facing any legal issues,” said the Minister. He stressed on the need to create awareness on alternate crop cultivation among farmers.
