Agriculture University scientists examine paddy fields in Karimnagar rural mandal on Wednesday
Karimnagar: A team of scientists from Prof Jayashankar Telangana State Agriculture University examined fine variety paddy fields in Karimnagar rural mandal on Wednesday.
In the wake of complaints from farmers that Jai Shri Ram gold variety paddy seed supplied by a Mumbai-based seed company, Yashodha Hybrid Seeds Private Limited, has not grown at all, the agriculture scientists visited the fields. Scientists including Dr D Srilatha, Dr P Madhukar and D M Rajendraprasad examined paddy fields of Manda Thirupathi of Bommakal, Anumula Mallaiah of Gopalpur, Gujjula Devender Reddy, Kantham Satish Reddy and Gujjula Maruthi Reddy of Cherlabuthkur, Busarapu Bhumaiah of Erukulla, Perumandla Srinivas of Chamanpalli, Damarapalli Ramanjaneyulu, Kasturi Malla Reddy and Bonkuri Sudhakar Reddy of Nagunur.
They informed to submit a report to the agriculture department within two to three days by collecting more details from farmers. Climate conditions would also be taken into consideration while preparing the report, they informed.
Mandal Agriculture Officer Satyam, Agriculture Extension Officers Paidithalli, Swarnalatha, Sucharitha and Uday accompanined scientists. Farmers also visited fields along with scientists.
