Ahead of Jubilee Hills bypoll, Naveen Yadav’s outburst puts AIMIM-Congress alliance under scanner

Congress candidate Naveen Yadav has accused AIMIM of betrayal, straining the alliance between the two parties ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election. His remarks contradict TPCC chief Mahesh Kumar Goud’s stance, who reaffirmed AIMIM as a friendly ally.

Hyderabad: The friendly alliance between the Congress and AIMIM has taken a beating after Congress candidate for the Jubilee Hills bypoll V Naveen Yadav accused the MIM of “deceiving” him in the past.

The critical comments from the Congress candidate have come just before the Jubilee Hills election campaign is set to begin.

“The AIMIM has deceived us. Forget about Jubilee Hills, people will have to forget AIMIM even in the new city,” Naveen Yadav can be heard saying in a video, which is being circulated widely on social media platforms.

Interestingly, his comments are in sharp contrast to TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud’s assertions. “AIMIM is a friendly party and we are confident that Congress will win the Jubilee Hills by-elections comfortably,” he said during an informal chat with media persons on Monday.

There were quite a few contenders for the Jubilee Hills by election from the Congress. Amidst this, the AICC announced Naveen Yadav’s candidature for the by-election. However, Naveen Yadav went on to claim that the Congress party had sought the support of his family.

“Like AIMIM and Telugu Desam parties, which have sought our support, the Congress is seeking our support today. We are offering our service to the people,” Naveen Yadav said in the video.
