Ahead of Telangana High Court hearing, election notice for ZPTCs and MPTCs issued
Ahead of the High Court hearing on 42% BC reservation, Telangana District Collectors have issued notices for the first phase of ZPTC and MPTC elections. Nominations open October 11, elections on October 23, with results scheduled for November 11.

Hyderabad: Ahead of the High Court’s continued hearing scheduled on the State government order providing 42 percent reservations to BCs in local body elections this afternoon, District Collectors have issued notices for the first phase of ZPTC and MPTC polls in the State.
The State Election Commission had already issued a notification of the ZPTC and MPTC elections last week to be conducted in two phases. Accordingly, the election notice has been issued by District Collectors to conduct the first phase of elections.
Under this phase, elections are to be conducted in 58 revenue divisions in 31 districts. Nominations would be received for 292 ZPTCs and 2963 MPTCs from October 11 and the last date for withdrawal of nominations is October 15.
While filing the nomination, general category candidates will have to deposit Rs.5,000 and reserved category candidates will have to pay Rs.2500. Elections would be held on October 23 and results are to be declared on November 11.
