Hyderabad: AICC Telangana incharge Meenakshi Natarajan held a closed-door meeting with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his residence here on Friday, raising interest among political observers.
The meeting, which lasted nearly an hour, has triggered speculation in political circles, especially with the local body elections fast approaching. The buzz around cabinet expansion, appointment of TPCC’s working president, and filling up of other key posts has further intensified the speculation.
Interestingly, the AICC incharge was scheduled to conduct meetings with leaders from Nalgonda and Bhongir (Bhuvanagiri) parliamentary constituencies at Gandhi Bhavan. However, these meetings were abruptly cancelled, and she instead proceeded to the Chief Minister’s residence.
Party leaders remained tight-lipped about the discussions and dismissed it as a routine meeting.
It may be recalled that the AICC incharge has been holding a series of meetings at Gandhi Bhavan with MLAs, MPs, and other leaders from various constituencies over the past few days. During these interactions, leaders openly expressed concerns over the internal dynamics within the party—particularly the growing friction between long-time loyalists and recent entrants from other parties.
Additionally, some leaders lodged complaints against certain Ministers and MPs for their alleged lack of coordination with the party cadre. For instance, former MLA Sampath Kumar reportedly complained against Nagarkurnool MP and TPCC Disciplinary Committee Chairman Mallu Ravi for meeting Alampur BRS MLA Vijayudu and engaging in alleged anti-party activities.
Party sources said Meenakshi Natarajan discussed these issues with the Chief Minister, along with a few other important matters.
