Hyderabad: The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has put on hold the approvals for 10 engineering colleges in the State for the academic year 2025-26.
As per the Technical Education department sources, there were deficiencies and non-compliances with mandatory norms that led to a delay in the approval of the colleges.
The AICTE, which is currently in the process of issuing approval for the academic year 2025-26, found multiple discrepancies in the documents submitted by 10 colleges during virtual inspections.
Over 170 engineering colleges from the State applied for the approvals this year. As part of the process, the AICTE conducted virtual inspections of the institutions before granting approvals. As per the timeline, the AICTE is expected to conclude the approval process by the end of June.
Meanwhile, the TG EAPCET web counselling notification for admissions to engineering programmes will be released in the next couple of days.
