Hyderabad: On the occasion of the 118th birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh, a rally was organised on the streets of Khairatabad by the AIDSO on Sunday.

Bhagat Singh, who at a very young age participated in India’s freedom struggle, and believed true independence does not merely mean driving away the British, but lay in changing the exploitative system, and in building an egalitarian society, AIDSO said in a press release.

As part of this programme, a signature campaign was conducted with the aim of strengthening the government education system in Telangana. The chief speaker of the event, Dr. R. Gangadhar, emphasised that the youth of this country must consider Bhagat Singh as their true hero and role model, and must question the anti-social activities happening around them.

The event saw participation from PCAI state convener Bharat, members Alekhya and Venkatesh, president Nitish, secretary Nagaraju, Vishali, Karthik, Manohar, Nihitha, Pranav, and Shashank.
