Karimnagar: BC Welfare and Civil Supplies Minister Gangula Kamalakar on Sunday said Telangana armed struggle leader Chakali Ailamma was a great warrior.
The Minister along with Karimnagar Mayor Y Sunil Rao and Collector RV Karnan paid tribute to Ailamma by garlanding her statue on the occasion of her 126th birth anniversary at Prathima multiplex here.
Speaking on the occasion, Kamalakar said Ailamma inspired the people of Telangana to be tough and prepare for sacrifices for future generations by instilling a fighting spirit among the public.
He appreciated the State government’s decision to celebrate Ailamma’s birth anniversary officially. Deputy Mayor Challa Swaroopa Rani, Telangana Rajaka Sangham state president Pusala Sampath, corporators and officials participated in the programme.
