Hanamkonda: AISF activists tried to lay siege to the house of Endowments Minister Konda Surekha in Hanamkonda on Thursday demanding action on problems in the education sector.
A group of activists shouting slogans against the Congress government reached the house to stage a dharna in front of the minister’s house in protest against the delay in clearing pending fee reimbursement. But the police stopped them before they could reach the minister’s house and detained them.
Speaking to the media the activists stated that as the government has not cleared scholarship and fee reimbursement dues, students were facing hardships. Gurukuls in the state were in bad shape due to lack of monitoring by officials.
