Hyderabad: Telangana tennis player Akshaya Reddy Motati clinched the girls’ singles title at the AITA Championship Series U-12 Boys & Girls Tennis Tournament at Ash Tennis Academy, Shamirpet, Hyderabad, on Sunday.

In the final, she triumphed over statemate Aswitha Reddy Kankanala 6-3, 6-2 to emerge as the winner. In the other matches, state player G Vishwak Reddy lost to Dhanush SM 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 in the hard-fought boys’ final. Meanwhile, the duo of Dhanush and Vishwak defeated Kabilayayati and Vedant Sahu 6-2, 7-5 to win the boys’ doubles final.


Results: U-12: Singles: Boys: Dhanush SM (KA) bt G Vishwak Reddy (TS) 6-4, 4-6, 7-5; Girls: Akshya Reddy Motati (TS) bt Aswitha Reddy Kankanala (TS) 6-3, 6-2; Doubles: Boys: Dhanush SM (KA)/ Vishwak Reddy G (TS) bt Kabilayayati (TN)/ Vedant Sahu (TS) 6-2, 7-5.
