Hyderabad: The AIU Central Zone Vice-Chancellors’ Meet 2025–26 concluded at Osmania University (OU) here on Friday, with experts calling for regulatory clarity and adoption of human-centric AI as a foundation for university governance.

The two-day summit, themed “Creating AI- and Quantum-Enabled Higher Educational Institutions,” brought together leading academic minds to strategise on the future of research, ethics and technology-driven pedagogy.

OU Vice Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram delivered a report synthesising the intensive two-day itinerary, which featured three specialised technical sessions on AI infrastructure, quantum research preparedness and collaborative institutional frameworks.

IIIT Hyderabad Director Prof. Sandeep Shukla emphasised that technological prowess must be balanced with moral responsibility.

Speakers, including Prof. Nirmaljeet Singh Kalsi, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University Hyderabad Vice Chancellor Prof. T Kishen Kumar Reddy, and Cyient Founder Chairman Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, asserted that regulatory clarity and “Human-Centric AI” must become foundational to university governance.

Special Chief Secretary to Government Jayesh Ranjan emphasised a radical shift in student mindsets, moving from “job seekers” to “entrepreneurs”, and aligning academic research with pressing societal needs.

AIU Secretary General Dr. Pankaj Mittal urged institutions to adopt agile governance to maintain a global competitive edge.
