Akhil Mahajan assumes charges as Adilabad SP

Adilabad: Superintendent of Police Akhil Mahahan said that he would strive hard to bring police closer to the public using innovative means. He took over from SP Gaush Alam here on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Akhil said that he would lay a special focus on anti-social activities along the borders of the district, besides controlling crimes and maintaining law and order. He stated that efforts would be made to eradicate smuggling of banned ganja. Rowdy-sheeters would be opened against gangsters and trouble creators.
The 2017 batch IPS officer further said that a focus would be laid on addressing traffic snarls and preventing problems caused by anti-social elements in the district centre. He sought cooperation of the public in taking to a higher position and to make a peaceful region in Telangana.
Additional SP Surender Rao, DSPs Potharam Srinivas, L Jeevan Reddy, Ch Nagender, Haseebullah, Inspectors and Sub-Inspectors accorded a grand welcome to Akhil. Police officials of various ranks bid a send-off to Gaush Alam who was transferred and replaced by Akhil on Sunday.
