Hyderabad: An elderly woman was throttled to death, allegedly by her son, in their house for refusing to give him money to booze at Mekaguda in Nandigama on the city outskirts on Tuesday.
According to the police, the victim Ch Balamani (51) was staying with her two sons Ramesh and Yadagiri, both agricultural workers. Ramesh was habituated to alcohol and often picked up fights with his mother demanding money for booze. On Tuesday, he picked up an argument with her after which he is suspected to have throttled her to death, police said, adding that Ramesh then informed his brother over the phone about the murder. The Nandigama police arrested Ramesh.
