Hyderabad: The admission process for two-year BEd course through the Telangana State Education Common Entrance Test (TS EdCET) 2020 first phase web counselling has begun and the last date to register cum certificate verification online is December 17. Given the Coronavirus pandemic, the Telangana State Council of Higher Education has introduced online certificate verification. However, candidates belonging to the special category including NCC/CAP/PH/Sports must attend physical verification of certificates from December 14 to 17.
Scanned copies of original certificates that should be uploaded include degree certificate of qualifying exam and memorandum of marks, intermediate memo-cum pass certificate or its equivalent, SSC or its equivalent, and study certificate from Class IX to graduation, integrated community certificate (caste certificate) issued by the competent authority in case of BC/SC/ST candidates, if applicable.
According to the TS EdCET admission notification, candidates claiming Muslim and Christian Minority should upload the ‘TC’ of the SSC containing Minority Status or in the absence of ‘TC’, a certificate issued by the head of the institution in which students studied/appeared for SSC or its equivalent examination is necessary. A list of eligible candidates for admissions and an option for corrections, if any through e-mail will be available on December 20. All eligible candidates can exercise web options on December 21 and 22, and they can edit web options on December 23 up to 5 pm.
The provisional seat allotment orders will be issued to eligible candidates and a list will be placed on the website on December 26. Candidates on receiving provisional seat allotment orders must report at the colleges concerned for verification of original certificates and should also submit tuition fee payment challan between December 28 and 31.
This year, a total of 97.58 per cent (29,861) have qualified out of 30,600 candidates who had appeared for TS EdCET. “In view of the Covid-19 pandemic, we cannot take a risk by going in for physical verification of certificates for a large number of candidates. So, this time, we are conducting preliminary certificates verification online. Students must upload scanned copies of original certificates online for verification online. On receiving provisional seat allotment order, candidates must report at allotted colleges and get their certificates physically verified there,” TS EdCET Admissions convener Prof. P Ramesh Babu said.
A schedule for second phase admission counselling will be announced later. The classwork will commence from January 4, 2021. For more details, visit the website https://edcetadm.tsche.ac.in/
