Bhadrachalam: All is set for Seetharama Kalyanam as part of Sri Rama Navami to be celebrated at Sri Seetha Ramachandraswamy Devasthanam here on Sunday.
The district administration, endowments department and police have made elaborate arrangements for the festival which will attract devotees from all over AP, Telangana and other parts in the country. The TSRTC is operating as many as 400 special buses to Bhadrachalam from different parts of the State, informed Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar. It may be noted that after a gap of two years Sri Rama Navami celebration is taking place openly in the presence of devotees.
The celebration was restricted to the temple for the last two years due to Covid. This time a large number of devotees expected to take part in the celebrations and arrangements have been made accordingly, he said. Steps to prepare three lakh ‘Laddu prasadam’ to distribute to the devotees have to be taken. Around 60 centres have been set up to distribute ‘talambralu’ devotees. Mithila Stadium where Seetharama Kalyanam takes place is divided into 24 sectors, each monitored by district officials.
District Collector Anudeep Durishetty informed that steps have been taken to supply drinking water at 200 places in the town. Six parking lots have been put in place. Around 35 doctors and 150 paramedical staff will be on duty at the temple town to offer medical services. Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy is expected to attend Kalyanotsavam to present ‘Pattu Vastrams’ and ‘Mutyala Talambralu’ to the deities. Minister Ajay Kumar will also participate in the celebration.
Meanwhile on Saturday evening, ‘Edurukolu Utsavam’ is held on the temple premises where introduction and interaction of the bridegroom Lord Rama and the bride Goddess Seetha has taken place. It is a sacred tradition performed a day before the celestial wedding of the deities.
