All set for 69th SGF Under-17 Boys Kabaddi Championship in Kothagudem

Kothagudem: The stage is set for the 69th School Games Federation (SGF) Under-17 Boys National Kabaddi Championship to be held in Kothagudem from January 7 to 11.
The event will take place at Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS), Edulla Bayyaram village of Pinapaka mandal. As many as 33 teams from various states and union territories have registered to participate, informed district Collector Jitesh V Patil.
Teams from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar, Assam, Odisha, West Bengal, Manipur, Tripura, Gujarat, Delhi, Chandigarh, Puducherry and Uttarakhand, along with the union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, will be competing.
Similarly, teams from national-level educational institutions such as Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), CBSE Welfare Sports Organization, CISCE (ICSE) and Vidya Bharati will also participate. The registration process has been completed with 6 to 12 players from each team, Patil said.
Kothagudem district will gain special recognition in the field of sports with the organisation of the national-level kabaddi championship. Meticulous arrangements have been made regarding accommodation, food, drinking water, medical facilities, security and transportation to ensure that players, coaches, officials and guests do not face any difficulties, the Collector noted.
SGF district executive secretary Vasireddy Naresh Kumar informed that Panchayat Raj Minister Seethakka is likely to attend the inaugural ceremony along with Pinapaka MLA Payam Venkateshwarlu and others. Activities like weighing of players took place on Tuesday.
