Hyderabad: Allegations against the Congress party over the distribution of money and sarees to voters in the Jubilee Hills constituency continued to surface, with more people from various sections sharing accounts of the alleged bribery. After several images and videos of purported distribution were widely circulated on social media, individuals are now posting personal experiences of what they claimed to have witnessed.

A Reddit user with the handle ‘Gongurapachhadi’ described the alleged method adopted to bribe voters, detailing a step-by-step process and the use of technology in the exercise.

Sharing his experience, the voter said the apartment watchman had alerted residents about ‘Congress persons being present with cash’.

According to his post, two to three people with mini printers set up tables in lanes. On showing a Voter ID card or proof of being a voter in the constituency, the team would verify the details in what he claimed was a Congress-developed software and print a token with the voter’s name, booth, serial number and EPIC ID.

“Then the voters would be escorted by a man along with the slip to another lane. They chose random shops of their supporters. For me, they took me into a tailoring shop which has a door behind it,” he wrote.

“A group of people sit with cash bags. They take this token and re-verify the details in the electoral rolls and strike it off. Another man hands over Rs. 2,500 with the torn token warning you that, if you don’t vote for Congress, your name will be seen and we will come after you,” he alleged.

Questioning the presence of police surveillance and check posts, he claimed the Congress, which he termed a dying party, was burying democracy with such precision.

“Imagine what the party which is in power in the central government is capable of?? If Narendra Modi is Vote Chor then Rahul Gandhi is Vote Vendor,” he said.

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi has been alleging repeated poll code violations by the ruling Congress.

Sharing a video on X, BRS spokesperson Manne Krishank said, “Rs.5000 per vote distribution by Congress corporators desperately to save their loss in Jubilee Hills by-poll.”

In the past two days, many such videos and images have been shared on social media by different users.
