Hyderabad: Panic gripped Golconda and its surrounding areas after multiple sightings of a leopard were reported over the past two days.

According to witnesses, several individuals traveling on the Taramati Baradari main road saw the leopard cross the road and head towards Musi river.

Separately, other residents in the vicinity claimed to have seen the big cat in the Ibrahimbagh area of Golconda.

The police, meanwhile, are verifying a video being circulated on social media that shows a leopard crossing a road. “We have informed the Forest Department about the video. A team is on the job and have visited the area and will take up necessary action,” said Golconda ACP Syed Faiz.

The police and forest officials have urged people to be vigilant.

The recent sightings at Golconda follow a similar incident last week, when a leopard was seen at the Greyhounds police campus in Gandipet, prompting Forest Department officials to set up trap cages in the area.
