Hyderabad: All-languages worldwide gross Box Office collection of Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer “Pushpa” in 16 days is Rs 300 crore as of the New Year Day (January 1), making it the highest grosser of the year among the films released in the country in 2021.
Smashing the box office records with “Pushpa: The Rise”, Allu Arjun now also enters the 300 crore club in South for the first time, until now only occupied by three others – Rajnikanth, Prabhas and Thalapathy Vijay.
The movie running to houseful shows at most of the theatres even on 16th day of its release (January 1, 2022), is also having a phenomenal run in the entire North region.
In this post-pandemic time, even with 70 per cent occupancy in some states, facing ticket pricing issues in Andhra Pradesh and almost negligible amount of promotion in the North, it is simply amazing that the movie is witnessing such a rage with audience.
“Pushpa” has emerged as a successful movie for many reasons. The most distinguishing factors in making the film work across the country are – its content and authentic portrayal of subject.
Other most pivotal reason for it to become a huge blockbuster is amazing action by the four – Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Sunil. And, fights, drama, love and emotion exhibited are simply mind-blowing.
Also, the stylish star admired by the audience for many years is a crowd puller owing to some of his earlier superhit films and his last 2020-released “Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo” which impressed millions.
Picture looks rosy ahead
With breakeven already achieved and craze among fans & people still on a high, and number of screens increased at some places due to the demand, “Pushpa” will continue be to strong even going ahead.
Looking at its big box office collections until now, and with no big banner films coming up for release during Pongal, it is expected to be a humongous grosser, and also establishing Allu Arjun as the biggest star in the South film industry.
As the Hindi version of “Pushpa” only released on the New Year Day in the US and Australia, this is going to increase its already achieved top-notch collections further. It also looks like the non-Shankar, non-Rajamouli pan-India outing may go on to become the highest in terms of gross collections.
Unstoppable in the North
Though not promoted in the Hindi belt, “Pushpa” has still done wonders there with total collections from 16 days touching nearly Rs 60 crore. Hindi “Pushpa” collections are on a rampage mode in the North region.
The film’s gross collections are above Rs 6 crore on its 16th day of release in the North including all regional Hindi belts. This is a record single day total earnings for the movie in Hindi version in the Northern part.
Running at a super great speed in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with all shows on all days houseful, it is also having a sensational run in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra.
Allu Arjun’s larger than life portrayal of the hero, splendid acting, and phenomenal Bollywood entry undoubtedly take him to high pedestal.
After “Baahubali” series established Prabhas as a pan-India star, it looks like “Pushpa” will give Allu Arjun the same rise with his pan-India debut.
