Hyderabad: Actor Allu Sirish has approached the police complaining of a late-night noise disturbance near his residence in Shaikpet, saying that loud music had been causing inconvenience to residents of his apartment complex for several days.
Sirish, a resident of Aparna One, alleged that loud music was being played from a Hanuman temple at Vinobha Nagar and said he had already approached the Film Nagar police over the issue. He claimed that several elderly persons, children and working people in the society were being disturbed and that residents had made complaints in the past as well.
The actor took to X and said that residents were initially asked to bear the noise until September 25 because of Ganesh immersion celebrations. However, he claimed that the celebrations were over, but the loud music continued.
The Hyderabad City Police responded to his post, saying they had shared the matter with the Film Nagar SHO for necessary action.
Sirish later clarified that his complaint was about the disturbance caused by the loud music and not against any religion or devotional activity.
In another post on X, he said he was religious himself and prayed to Lord Hanuman, adding that playing music through a DJ setup at 2 a.m. should not be equated with devotion.
Meanwhile, the Cyberabad Police clarified that the music was not being played at the Hanuman temple as initially understood. According to the police, the noise was from a Ganesh immersion procession that was being conducted on the 15th day.
Police said they spoke to the organisers and the immersion procession was subsequently completed.
The clarification came after Sirish’s complaint was widely discussed on social media, with the actor raising concern about the impact of late-night noise on residents in the locality.
