Alternative roads at AOC: High-level meeting between GHMC and Defence officials
The GHMC Commissioner, RV Karnan, held a meeting with Defence officials, including Brigadier SK Chetty, to expedite the transfer of Defence land for the construction of two key alternative roads connecting Safilguda Level Crossing to Entrenchment Road and RK Puram Road Over Bridge.
Hyderabad: The GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan convened a meeting with the Defence officials to discuss the transfer of Defence land for two alternative roads – from Safilguda Level Crossing to Entrenchment Road, and Safilguda Level Crossing to RK Puram Road Over Bridge (RoB).
The tender process for constructing the two alternative roads proposed at AOC Center will begin soon, he said, adding that the Telangana government has already sanctioned Rs 960 crore for these roads under the H-CITI (Hyderabad City Innovative and Transformative Infrastructure) programme.
Senior defence officials, led by Land Legal Director Brigadier SK Chetty attended the meeting, where discussions were held on measures to expedite the process of transferring the required 42.20 acres of land for the project, according to an official release issued by the GHMC.
The Defence officials urged the GHMC Commissioner to allot state government land of equal value in exchange for the affected defence land, as per the current norms
