Small screen heartthrob, who is known for his chocolate boy looks, Amar Upadhyay is all excited about his upcoming big-budget film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. The actor, who is working in projects for both small and big screen projects, shares details of the film, his upcoming projects, etc., in an exclusive interview with ‘Hyderabad Today’.
The ‘Kaagaz’ actor, who shares the screen space with Tabu in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’, says, “This movie gave me a lot of memories; we had lots of fun on the sets. Tabu is a workaholic and is so sweet with everybody on the sets,” says Amar, who has high expectations from the film.
Talking about the film, the actor says, “It was joyful to work with the team, especially the director, who was active and full of ‘josh’. His enthusiasm rubbed off on everyone who got quite active on the sets. The film’s shooting took place in Rajasthan and the team was full of life, and warm. We had fun and some hilarious moments while shooting. People will love the movie for sure, as it’s a mixture of both horror and comedy.”
Amar, who is also working for serial titled ‘Molki’ which is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, shares how he is striking that perfect balance between the small and big screens. “I won’t say it was an easy task. It has, indeed, been difficult to manage both the industries. When you work for small screen, it takes a lot of time to shoot.
But I have signed a few serials which are not only interesting but also give a message to the society. ‘Molki’ is a series that revolves around the Molki tradition which impacted people in Shajapur, Rajasthan. Bride buying, which existed at one point but is stopped now, is what Molki is all about,” shares Amar.
Quiz him on what he prefers, OTT platforms or serials, and the actor says, “OTT does give the TV channels stiff competition. Television should upgrade their content to sustain in the market; OTTs have huge budgets and always experiment with their content.” Amar also turned producer for ‘Kabutar Khana’, a web series which is streaming on the OTT platform called Ullu.
The poster of ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which also stars Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani and Tabu, was released recently. The film will likely hit the theatres on March 25, 2022.
