As many as 19 villages in the region will form Amaravati Capital City Corporation and the district administration has issued a notification to this effect.

It was also decided to conduct Gram Sabhas in 16 villages of Tullur mandal and three villages in Mangalagiri mandal to elicit public opinion in the matter.
