Hyderabad: Are you looking for a Covid-19 testing centre? Do you want details on where one can get a Covid vaccine? Then Amazon Alexa is here to answer all your questions. In its latest update, Amazon Alexa features everything related to Covid-19 for its Indian users.
In 2020, Alexa was able to share information about Covid-19 related symptoms and cases in India, to name a few. Now, it will be able to provide information about testing and vaccination centres, as well as information on vaccination availability, Covid-19 helpline numbers, details to contribute towards Covid-19 relief, and much more.
The information is sourced from CoWIN portal, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare website as well as MapmyIndia. Alexa with the help of MapmyIndia, can now help you find the nearest testing centre along with the travel distance. It can also help you identify the closest vaccination centres where vaccines are available.
“Alexa recognizes your location from your device registration and provides a list of all the vaccination centres near you. You can use this information to time your visit to the CoWIN portal for booking an appointment,” says a blog post by the company.
The post also reveals that users can search for vaccination centres near other pin codes then use the Vaccine Info Alexa skill. The skill will ask you for a pin code, as well as the age category to provide you with information. This can be extremely useful if you are helping friends and family book appointments.
It will now answer all your queries related to vaccination. Not sure if the vaccination is safe? Or need to book a slot for vaccination? Just ask, “Alexa, is the vaccine safe?” or “Alexa, how can I register for Covid vaccine?”
