India: Amazon has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Andhra Pradesh Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Corporation (APMSMEDC) to support MSMEs, entrepreneurs, weavers, artisans, and producers across the state in building their export businesses through Amazon Global Selling.
The MoU was signed in the presence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan. The collaboration aims to strengthen awareness around e-commerce exports, enhance exporter readiness, and enable businesses in Andhra Pradesh to sell to international customers via Amazon’s global marketplaces.
As part of the initiative, Amazon will conduct knowledge-sharing sessions covering global marketplace operations, export readiness, compliance requirements, logistics, and sustainable scaling. The programme will also support the creation of training initiatives across Andhra Pradesh to provide on-ground assistance for businesses beginning their e-commerce export journey.
Speaking on the collaboration, Vinod Kumar, President of India SME Forum, said the initiative marks a pivotal moment for the MSME sector in the state. He noted that the MoU will open new pathways for MSMEs to participate in global trade using e-commerce platforms, enabling them to scale with improved access to digital tools and international markets.
Srinidhi Kalvapudi, Head of Amazon Global Selling India, said the company is committed to enabling Indian MSMEs to build and scale global businesses through e-commerce exports. He added that the partnership will help businesses in Andhra Pradesh access global opportunities through awareness and enablement programmes, contributing to Amazon’s broader goal of facilitating $80 billion in cumulative exports from India by 2030.
Under the MoU, Amazon, APMSMEDC, and India SME Forum will work together to enable more than 50,000 businesses across Andhra Pradesh to access global markets through structured e-commerce export training programmes. The collaboration will also support policy development, seller mobilisation, and ecosystem building for export-oriented growth.
The agreement was signed at the MSME Growth Summit held in Vijayawada, organised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The event brought together more than 1,500 MSMEs from Vijayawada and surrounding regions, offering them insights and guidance from Amazon Global Selling experts on scaling globally.
Andhra Pradesh’s MSME base of approximately 39 lakh enterprises positions the state as a key hub in Amazon’s broader strategy to scale e-commerce exports from India.
