Amberpet family of three found dead in suspected suicide pact

In Hyderabad’s Amberpet locality, three members of a family, a couple and their daughter, were found dead in a suspected suicide pact. The tragedy follows the suicide of their elder daughter four months ago, which reportedly left the family in deep depression.

Hyderabad: Three members of a family are suspected to have died in a ‘suicide pact’ at Amberpet in the city on Saturday.

According to the police, P Srinivas married Vijaya Laxmi, around 18 years ago and the couple had two daughters – the elder aged around 16 years and the younger aged 14 years.

Around four months ago, the elder daughter of Srinivas died by suicide at their house over some issues. “Since the death of the girl, the family slipped into depression and talked about ending their lives. On Saturday, Srinivas, Laxmi and their younger daughter Sriya are suspected to have died by suicide,” said Amberpet police.

The incident came to light when the relatives of Srinivas tried to reach over the phone. When the calls went unanswered they came to the house and found the three people hanging from the ceiling.

Upon receiving information, the police reached the house and shifted the bodies to Osmania General Hospital (OGH) mortuary for post-mortem examination.

A case has been registered and the police are gathering information from the relatives of Srinivas. The police are probing the case from all angles.
