Mumbai: Bollywood actress Ananya Panday has opened up about how growing up with both Bollywood and global content has influenced her choice of roles, making her seek out fresh, layered, and relatable characters.
Ananya said: “I love that we have access to both the drama and emotion of Bollywood and the realism and depth of global storytelling. It makes you want to find roles that are layered and fresh, but still entertaining.”
The 26-year-old actress added that she gravitates towards characters that feel relatable yet distinct. “I gravitate towards characters that feel relatable but also have something a little different, whether it’s in how they dress, speak, or see the world.”
She recently hosted Airbnb’s Original experience curated with her A-team, and spoke to IANS while discussing her upcoming films.
Ananya has a busy year ahead with two projects — Chand Mera Dil and Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
Chand Mera Dil, announced in November last year, is a passionate love story directed by Vivek Soni, known for Meenakshi Sundareshwar (2021).
Her other film, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, features Kartik Aaryan, Jackie Shroff, Neena Gupta, and others in pivotal roles. The film marks Ananya and Kartik’s second collaboration after Pati Patni Aur Woh (2019).
Produced by Karan Johar in collaboration with Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Shareen Mantri Kedia, and Kishor Arora, the film is expected to release on February 13, 2026. Meanwhile, Kartik’s untitled film with Anurag Basu is slated for Diwali 2025.
