Andhra court remands police inspector accused in custodial death case
A court in Vijayawada remanded suspended Krishna Lanka inspector SSVV Naga Raju for 14 days in connection with the custodial death of a 25-year-old man, who was allegedly tortured and secretly cremated without informing his family members

Vijayawada: A local court on Wednesday remanded the police inspector accused of “torturing” a youngster to death in custody for 14 days, an official said.
Suspended Krishna Lanka inspector SSVV Naga Raju (53) is accused of thrashing Gade Sai Krishna (25) to death and then clandestinely cremating his body without the knowledge of his family members.
“Naga Raju was produced before a local court here (Vijayawada), which remanded him for 14 days,” the official told PTI.
According to the official, the suspended inspector is being shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail.
